Rashida and Mom in Allure
on 24 Apr 2008 by Janie
Thanks to kathy for letting me know that this was posted at PerezHilton.com.

The Office beauty Rashida Jones is featured in the new issue of Allure magazine with her mom, former model Peggy Lipton.

Her mom is 61 years old!!!! For reals!!!! And, she looks like she's naturally that gorgeous, without any nips and tucks.

Share your secrets, Peggy!!!

And she does.

“I advise my daughters to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize, but worrying too much about the way you look will age you," Lipton tells Allure. "Beauty at any age really does come from within.”

Says Rashida, whose father is legendary musician Quincy Jones, “My sister and I used to tease my Mom about the lengths she would go to to stay out of the sun and prepare her skin for bed with all sorts of creams and oils, but seeing how she looks now, I happily eat my words."

Note to self: moisturize every fucking hour!!! Sleep in a tub of lard. Whatever it takes!!!

Prada Presents Trembled Blossoms
on 24 Mar 2008 by Janie
Thanks to Vinita for the link to this article about a recent event that Rashida attended.

Prada fans including Rosario Dawson, China Chow, Brooke Shields, Liz Goldwyn, Rashida Jones, Taye Diggs, and Ginnifer Goodwin turned up at the label's North Rodeo Drive epicenter in Beverly Hills on Wednesday night to catch the West Coast premiere of Trembled Blossoms—the animated short commissioned by Miuccia Prada. "Miuccia is just a genius," said Shiva Rose of the forward-thinking designer, who didn't make the trip from Milan. "She's always ahead of the curve and making things modern."

Indeed, Prada replaced CocoRosie, who sang at the movie's New York screening, with DJ Frederic Sanchez. As he spun Goldfrapp and Bloc Party, guests sipped on fruity vodka cocktails. Everyone, that is, except Minnie Driver, who, having recently confirmed her pregnancy, stuck to water. "At least you never have a hangover," she said, flaunting her new curves in a black Prada frock. Nearby, Nicole Richie, who gave birth to daughter Harlow in January, looked as tiny as ever. How did she bounce back so quickly? "Breastfeeding!" she exclaimed.

Rashida Jones helps Courteney Cox raise money for EB
on 23 Mar 2008 by Janie
From EW.com:

Courteney Cox is looking to her friends for help with her latest cause.

The Dirt star and her husband, David Arquette, have recruited a roster of famous folks, including Jennifer Aniston, to help them try to raise $1 million in two weeks for Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare and debilitating skin condition that primarily affects children.

"EB is very personal to me, so I'm happy to be a part of this $1 million challenge," Cox said in a statement. "Now is such an important time to put the spotlight on EB and ensure that research can continue at a fast pace."

Aniston's ex, Brad Pitt, is also on board for the challenge, as are Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Orlando Bloom, Kate Beckinsale, Rashida Jones, James Marsden and Eva Longoria Parker.

Cox and Arquette are heading up the effort as members of the honorary advisory board of the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation. Aniston, Pitt, Rossdale and Stefani are also members.

Those affected by the condition break out in painful blisters after even minor trauma to the skin. Wounds may cover up to 75 percent of the body and never go away.

Few people who suffer from Epidermolysis Bullosa survive past the age of 30. As many as 100,000 Americans may have some form of the condition.

Women's Health
on 22 Mar 2008 by Janie
Thanks to Jackie from Women's Health Magazine for letting me know that Rashida is featured in thier April issue and for sending me the scans as well.

Rashida Jones has quite the resume - Karen from "The Office", Quincy's daughter, Maroon 5's back-up singer, a Harvard grad, and the star of the racy new Farrelly brothers' show, "Unhitched".

For a girl who rode the school bus with Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian, and whose lifelong gal pal is Nicole Richie, Rashida has certainly taken a different path than her peers!

This driven and intelligent starlet isn't afraid to tell it like it is…and it's all revealed in the April issue of Women's Health.

"I think about what it would be like to have a daughter now, one who is influenced by Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Britney Spears – and, ugh, it's so depressing. Where are the other young Hollywood role models who are cool, smart, and out there doing something with their lives? Maybe Miley Cyrus [aka Hannah Montana]? There's a definite responsibility that comes with being famous. You shouldn't be able to just dress up and look pretty."

On being a Hollywood kid and growing up as the daughter of Peggy and Quincy Jones:

"My parents wanted cool people around who were fun and family-oriented: it created a nice, safe environment. So I didn't have a hankering to go out and rebel. It was the classic 'My parents are crazy cool, and I was a straight-up geek.'"

On her ethnicity:

"I'm lucky because I have so many clashing cultural, racial things going on: black, Jewish, Irish, Portuguese, Cherokee. I can float and be part of any community I want. The thing is, I do identify with being black, and if people don't identify me that way, that's their issue. I'm happy to challenge people's understanding of what it looks like be biracial, because guess what? In the next 50 years, people will start looking more and more like me."

The April issue of Women's Health hit newsstands this week. Be sure to pick up a copy!
